Sarah Burke is a consultant with the The FutureWork Institute, Inc.®. Ms. Burke has an extensive background working in the field of diversity with particular emphasis on higher education. Ms. Burke's experience includes work with many top tier colleges and universities on issues of retention, inclusion and recruitment of a diverse student body. Ms. Burke has also worked as a career counselor at the New School for Social Research in New York City, meeting with a wide range of Master and Ph.D. level students to assist them with individual career planning, curriculum vitas, interview preparation and other career specific concerns. A trained facilitator, Ms. Burke has spent many years working with the New York City educational system, various not for profit organizations as well as Family Foundations. Ms. Burke's areas of expertise include cultural competencies, Gen X/Gen Y in the workplace, women's issues, LGBT issues and conflict mediation. Ms. Burke holds a Master of Arts as well as a Master of Education in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from Bernard M. Baruch School of Public Affairs. She earned her B.A. in History and Anthropology at the University of Vermont in Burlington. Most recently, Ms. Burke was the recipient of The National Urban Fellowship with The David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
