Herminia Ramos-Donovan is the chief operating officer of the FutureWork Institute and an organization and business development specialist. She has extensive consulting experience helping private, nonprofit and government entities align and integrate administrative infrastructures and business strategies aimed at improving performance and productivity. Instrumental in helping start-up businesses and in turning around troubled companies, Ms. Ramos-Donavan was appointed by Mayor Ed Koch to establish and manage the Division of Economic Opportunity to promote the city’s economic development programs and to provide business services to small, minority and women-owned businesses in New York City. She conducted New York City’s first major study of Hispanic and Caribbean businesses in that capacity and also conducted similar studies for the black and Asian business communities. She also initiated, developed and directed the city’s Minority and Women-owned Business Mentorship Program and created guidelines for the city’s M/WBE certification program. She is a member of the New York City Commission on the Status of Women and has served on the boards of numerous community-based organizations. The recipient of numerous awards, Ms. Ramos-Donovan received a B.S. degree in Bilingual Social Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
