In Europe The FutureWork Institute is led by Dr Ian Dodds who has been working
in the fields of change management and diversity and inclusion for over 25 years.
It is headquartered in London and has over 20 highly experienced consultants representing a wide range of diverse backgrounds including African Caribbeans,
Asians, Chinese, Gays and Lesbians, different Generations, and various Western
European nationalities.

FutureWork Europe delivers projects across Western Europe and within the
various member countries, and, in conjunction with our global colleagues in
Asia, Latin America and North America, it delivers global projects. We have
alliances with several other leading, specialist diversity consultancies which
greatly enriches the scope of our offerings. These partners assist with:
interactive theatre; national cultures’ diversity; on-line training and development;
on-line skills and diversity leadership behaviour assessments.

We provide the full range of FutureWork Institute offerings; but tailored and
geared to our European audience. Some specific examples connected with
the four drivers of change, which our research has shown that leadership
companies follow, are outlined below with case studies:

• Leader Behaviour. A unique approach to enable managers to achieve a
measured 15% to 25% improvement against specified diversity leadership
behaviours over a 12 month period.

We helped the largest office of a financial services organisation improve from
being one of the lowest performing offices to becoming one of the best. A
Sunday Telegraph fly-on-the-wall reporter wrote “I don’t think I have ever
been in an office with a stronger sense of purpose, contentment, candour,
coherence or vigour”

• Learning and Development. We cover a broad range of learning and
development needs from executive coaching to skills building workshops
for front-line staff.

A client challenged us to compact our one day awareness and skills building
workshops into two hour sessions without sacrificing the learning effectiveness
for participants. In response we developed two hour learning rooms which are
designed to cover a wide range of topics, e.g. multicultural differences, generational
diversity, gays and lesbians in the workplace, building inclusive, high performance
teams. These have proved extremely popular both with participants and clients
.

• Communication and Engagement. Our change management emphasis ensures
all employees are invited to move diversity/inclusion initiatives forward.

A global client asked us to help them to identify the leadership behaviours
of diversity champions. They accepted our recommendation to engage their
front-line employees by seeking their views at affinity focus groups, e.g.
African Caribbean, Asian, different ages, White Male
.

• Measuring Achievement. Against both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ parameters to
make sure inclusion initiatives are on target.

Our unique diversity leadership behaviour building approach has enabled
us to track the shift in leadership behaviour, amongst all levels of
management, both individually and collectively.

Specific European issues include:

• Managing multi-national operational and project teams. Our leadership
behaviour and national cultures learning room offerings assist greatly with
this process.

• The War for Talent which now encompasses older workers as well as other
minorities. Our organisational assessment technology and skill in helping
organisations build inclusive attitudes and behaviours enable clients to recruit,
motivate and retain this talent.

• Leveraging diversity to enhance creativity and innovation. Our Diversity
Innovation Laboratories are a unique and effective means to address this.

• Work/life balance. Few organisations make real progress with this. Our deep
expertise in culture change has enabled us to apply this knowledge to really
make a difference, e.g. through using demonstration projects; engaging staff in
the issues and solutions; building and reinforcing leadership behaviour.
